The DARAB, particularly the provincial adjudicator, determines the primary and exclusive original jurisdiction and adjudicate agrarian disputes arising within their territorial jurisdiction.Among the topics discussed in the said activity was DAR Administrative Order No. 2—Series of 2018.
The said administrative order aims to simplify cancellation cases of emancipation patents, certificates of land ownership awards and other titles issued under any agrarian reform program.
The speakers in the quarterly assessment were DAR assistant secretary Jim Coleto and Atty. Judita Montemayor Tungol, the new regional director of Department of Agrarian Reform Regional Office 1 (DARRO1).
Director Virgilio Acuna, the former regional director of DARRO1, is now the director for administration in DAR central office.
Before her assumption as head of DARRO1, Atty. Tungol served as Regional Adjudicator and OIC Director of DAR Region 3.
She is a graduate of AB Economics at the University of the Philippines-Diliman and Bachelor of Laws at Far Eastern University. She passed the bar examination in 1993.
In her message to the DAR employees in the region, the regional director stressed the need to stomp out red tape and corruption in the government.
