Manila—Sarrat mayor Remigio B. Medrano and Pagudpud mayor Marlon Ferdinand T. Sales graduated in the Agribusiness Executive Program of University of Asia & the Pacific (UA&P) on November 11, 2017.

Dr. Rolando Dy, Center for Food and Agribusiness-University of Asia and the Pacific executive director administered the commencement exercises.

A total 46 students completed the six-month Agribusiness Executives’ Program (AEP). UA&P conducted three-day classes every month, from Thursdays to Saturdays.

The school designed the program to develop the managerial, analytical and strategic thinking skills of executives and managers in their own community in collaboration with agribusiness industry practitioners and experts. Both content and design are based on a comprehensive needs analysis and innovative design process done in collaboration with agribusiness industry practitioners and experts.

The Center for Food and Agri Business is the agri-food research and instruction arm of the School of Management of UA&P. Started in 1983 as a research unit, it is now a leading center for agri-food economics and agribusiness research in the Philippines.

After completion, UA&P expects them to apply the management tools of benchmarking and competitiveness analyses and provides an in-depth understanding of global markets and supply/value chains.

The school also considers AEP graduates as alumni and are eligible for lifetime membership with endless opportunities for further learning, networking, and enjoyment.

Ilocos Norte governor Ma. Imelda Josefa “Imee” R. Marcos expressed her warm congratulatory message to Mayor Medrano and Mayor Sales: “It is indeed a great opportunity for our town mayors in availing this kind of program. A continuous development to strengthen their core management skills and leadership.”

The University of Asia and the Pacific (UA&P) is a private, not-for-profit institution of higher learning that offers some of the most outstanding academic programs in Asia. It provides a powerful combination of liberal education and professional specialization. An environment conducive to learning, qualified and dedicated teachers, a superior faculty-to-student ratio, and well-maintained facilities facilitates the formation of UA&P students.
