NCCA calls for proposals for 2018 grants

LAOAG CITY—Representatives from the National Commission for Culture and the Arts (NCCA) visited the province recently to call for proposals for arts and culture projects for next year.

For 2018, Ferdinand Isleta of the NCCA Arts Section said there are at least eight priority projects which qualified groups and individuals could pursue for funding. These are categorized per sub-commission which include: arts, heritage, cultural dissemination, cultural communities and traditional arts.

While in Ilocos Norte, the NCCA enjoined all civil society organizations (CSOs), peoples’ organizations (POs), indigenous peoples’ organizations (IPOs), individuals, local government units (LGUs), government agencies (GAs), state universities/colleges and public schools to submit their project proposals not later than August 31, 2017.

“We encourage empowered artists and cultural workers in Ilocos Norte to share their bright ideas and knowledge in promoting our rich culture as well as preserve our identities through arts,” Mr. Isleta said citing a number of proposals particularly about festivals and heritage sites preservation had been approved for funding in previous years.

Proponents interested in implementing projects in each category shall submit letters of intent and proposals to the Planning, Policy Formulation and Programming Division led by its division chief, Bernan Corpuz, at Room 5-B, fifth floor, NCCA Building, 633 General Luna Street, Intramuros, Manila.

Project Proposals may also be submitted via the following emails: arts@ncca.gov.ph, heritage@ncca.gov.ph, dissemination@ncca.gov.ph and traditional_arts@ncca.gov.ph.
