The Zonta Club of Ilocos Norte (ZCIN) recently installed and inducted its officers and board of directors for the biennial year 2016-2018 during a ceremony held at the Arabella Events Place in Laoag City.
According to the mission and vision of Zonta International, Zonta is a global organization of professionals empowering women through service and advocacy. It envisions a world in which women’s rights are recognized as human rights and every woman is able to achieve her full potential.
District 17 Governor Primitiva Perez-Sison led the installation ceremony of the following new officers of ZCIN: Ana Carmela V. Remigio, President; Ligaya T. Miguel, President-Elect; Helen C. Pascual, Vice President; Shey Pia G. Abaya, Secretary; Pia Ma. Barbara Mirca C. Cua, Assistant Secretary; Oliva Marie C. Albano, Treasurer; Maria Goretti V. Guerrero, Assistant Treasurer; and Decilva R. Fabian, Public Information Officer.
Valenie G. Blando, Consuelo F. Corpuz, Editha P. Medina, Celestina C. Paz, Lilibeth P. Rabago, Mildred B. Ranada, Zenaida T. Yasay and Rizalina T. Chua (Ex-Officio) were also installed as members of the board of directors. Marsha Leoncia M. Aoigan will serve as the director for District 17 Area 4.
Aside from the officers and board of directors, the members of ZCIN are: Tessie T. Ablan, Estrella Q. Alcid, Nida B. Alejandro, Cristina F. Ang, Mary C. Ang, Cecilia P. Aribuabo, Cherry Grace B. Asistin, Rachelle R. Bonales, Purisima A. Bueno, Miramar D. Bumanglag, Anita L. Chua, Cleofe Pinky Co, Lourdes C. Co, Marlene D. Co, Rosabella R. Corpuz, Tricia Connie M. Domingo, Araceli A. Drake, Rosario L. Dy, Judy R. Francisco, Evelyn D. Gee, Yolanda A. Go, Princess L. Gorgonio, Marlene J. Manuel, Theresita Q. Maranan, Aurora R. Muir, Aurea H. Nolasco, Esther Lili G. Pasion, Jomarie G. Ranada, Elaine C. Reyes, Cindy L. Ruiz, Mitzie T. Delos Santos, Fulgencia B. Taylan and Alegria M. Valenciano.
Meanwhile, the following new members were inducted: Graziella Joy Ong Abaya, Pamela Palma Aragoza, Mary Ann Yasay Luis, Veronica Mahor Pumaras and Generosa Albano Santiago.
In her message during the event, Ma. Victoria Vergel de Dios, member of the International Development Committee and ZI Foundation, reminded the officers and members of ZCIN of the biennial goals of Zonta International.
“Our focus areas for the biennial year 2016-2018 are programs on service, advocacy, membership and preparations for our upcoming centennial anniversary celebration,” she said.
Zonta International will celebrate its 100th anniversary in 2019.
