Dingras celebrates 21st Ani Festival

Dingras, Ilocos Norte—Another successful fiesta celebration was once again witnessed in the municipality of Dingras, the 21st Ani Festival 2014 with a multitude of programs and activities with the  theme “Nabuslon Nga Ani, Sarikedked Dagiti Umili’’.

The 11-day fiesta celebration that ran from March 14 to 24, 2024 kicked off with Bless Dingras; Opening of the Agro Industrial, Commercial and Trade Fair; and a Worship Celebration.

On March 16-18, 2024, the Elementary and Secondary Day was staged wherein a Floral parade was conducted in the morning followed by the coronation of their respective King and Queens for 2024 while the coronation of the Ms. NGA’s/NGOs were also conducted  on the 17th of March.

A Eucharist Mass Celebration was also conducted during the Feast Day of St. Joseph and Barangay Day on March 19 and a coronation night of Miss Dingras 2024.

Among the highlights of the fiesta was the Ani Street Dance and Showdown Competition participated in by all the barangays followed by the Search for Miss Ani Festival 2024 on March 21.

A Drag Show Bypass Road and Motor show were also done on the 21st and the 22nd of March respectively, culminated by the Search for Miss IMNAS ITI Daya 2024 on March 24.

Dingras Mayor Jeofrey Saguid expressed his deepest thanks and gratitude to all the Dingreños who joined, participated and supported this year’s 21st Ani Festival with lots of fun and activities.

In behalf of the Sangguniang Bayan, Dingras Vice Mayor Erdio Valenzuela, for his part, likewise congratulated the municipality of Dingras for a successful conduct of this year’s 21st Ani Festival.

Valenzuela said the festival is not only for celebrating the different activities and programs set but a celebration thanking the Almighty for the bountiful blessings and rich harvest from above.  

The Ani Festival is an annual thanksgiving celebration for the municipality of Dingras land fertility and abundance in agricultural products. Report shows that agriculture has been the primary way of life in Dingras, known as the “Rice Granary” of Ilocos Norte.
