Marcos town celebrates 7th Mannalon Festival

Marcos, Ilocos Norte – Thousands of Marcoseños has successfully joined and participated in this year’s 7th Mannalon Festival, held March 9-14, 2024, with the theme “Rambak iti Panagsalukag’’.

Marcos Mayor Antonio Mariano expressed his “heartfelt thanks” to all the people behind the success of this year’s festival especially to the participants in all the activities.

The festival kicked-off with a motor show on March 9 followed by the launching of “Tiangge ni Tatang Hub”, “TESDA Day” and “Thanksgiving Night” on March 10.

On March 11, a day for both the high school and elementary was held followed by the conduct of a medical and dental mission by The New Marcos Town Association of Hawaii (TNMTAH) in the morning and Balikbayan Night.

Different kinds of snacks were also presented by all the barangays during the Mannalon Cookfest on March 13 followed by the crowning of the Search for Bb. Marcos 2024 in the evening.

A display of unique floats was also presented during the “Mannalon Grand Parade” on March 14 with the “Community Night” held in the evening of the same day.

Mariano said “Mannalon Festival” is a celebration of thanksgiving to the Almighty for a “continuous bountiful harvest from the farm”.  

With this festival, the mayor hopes that the Marcoseños would inculcate into their minds the importance of farming especially to the young generations in nation-building that agriculture is one of their main sources of livelihood.
