The concreting and improvement of the said road is a part of the Agrarian Reform Infrastructure Support Project (ARISP) Phase III of the provincial office of the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR).

Through the DAR, the Japan International Cooperating Agency (JICA) and the national government gave a funding of almost P20 Million to complete the project.

This road enhancement will mainly benefit the Cabaroan Agrarian Reform Community (ARC) whose products need to be transported to the different parts of the province and the region.

On the same day, a Binakol Craft Production Building was turned over to the San Jose Multipurpose Cooperative in Barangay San Jose, Sarrat.

The building was built through the DAR’s Village Level Processing Center Enhancement Project (VLPCEP).

Out of the P603,322 total project cost, DAR contributed P240,000. The local government of Sarrat allocated P200,000, while the San Jose MPC shelled out P163,322.

Recently, the following projects of DAR-Ilocos Norte were also turned over to the different cooperatives in the province: Tamarind Wine Processing Building in Camanga, Badoc; Mango Wine Production Building in Bugayong, Nueva Era; and Loom Weaving Production Building in Mumulaan, Paoay.
