LAOAG CITY—Police Colonel Christopher Abrahano took over the reins of the Ilocos Norte Police Provincial Office (INPPO) in a formal change-in-command ceremony on February 19, 2020 at the Camp Capt. Valentin S. Juan, this city.
He replaces outgoing police provincial director P/Colonel Cesar Pasiwen, who is now chief of staff of in Calabarzon regional police office.
The incoming officer-in-charge hails from Sta. Barbara, Pangasinan and has held key posts at the Crime Investigation and Detection Group National Office and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in Region 1 and IV offices. He also served as former chief of police in Dagupan City, Pangasinan. He graduated at the Philippine National Police Academy in 1996.
Mr. Abrahano’s installation was presided by P/Brigadier General Joel S. Orduña, the incumbent Police Regional Office 1 regional director.
In his short message during the turn-over rites, Ilocos Norte Governor Matthew Joseph M. Manotoc said that it is with mix emotions that the outgoing provincial director is leaving the province while welcoming the incoming provincial director.
“We feel blessed and fortunate that Ilocos Norte has always been a peaceful and orderly province. We hope to keep it that way with the arrival of our new acting provincial director,” said Mr. Manotoc.
He likewise congratulated Mr. Pasiwen for his “noble leadership” at the INPPO.
As a token of gratitude, Regional Director Orduña awarded Mr. Pasiwen a medal of efficiency (Medalya ng Kasanayan) for his outstanding implementation of peacekeeping during his watch.
In his inaugural speech, Mr. Abrahano said “it is an honor and pleasure to have the opportunity to serve as acting Provincial Director of one of the most magnificent provinces in the north.”
He pledged to continue the legacy of his predecessors and maintain the province in its peaceful and orderly state.
“Makakaasa po kayo na sa aking panunungkulan ay ipapatupad ko ang mga priority projects ng pamunuan ng Philippine National Police lalong-lalo na sa kampanya laban sa krimen, droga, iligal na sugal at sa paglinis sa hanay ng kapulisan [Rest assured that under my term, I will continue to implement the priority projects of the PNP particularly on the campaign against crime, prohibited drugs, illegal numbers game and the internal cleansing program],” said Mr. Abrahano as he vowed to work closely with the different local government units and its people.
