San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte—For the second time, the Brgy. 11 San Fernando Day Care Center (DCC) won the Federated Day Care Center King and Queen of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte in celebration of this year’s Universal Children’s Month with the theme, “Karapatang Pambata: Patuloy na Pahalagahan at Gampanan Tungo Sa Magandang Kinabukasan”.
His Royal Highness King Mark Jacob B. Gonzales and Her Majesty Queen Diovel Zameiah Ulep were crowned on November 25, 2019 at the Barangay 11 Basketball Court with Phemy Rose Raquel-Javier as crowning guest and speaker.
Of the 24 Day Care Centers in San Nicolas, Barangay 11 DCC, represented by King Mark Jacob and Queen Diovel Zameiah, received the highest amount garnered in the federation.

During the coronation night, decorators of King Mark Jacob were the crowning guest for the crown, Mr. & Mrs. Rody Erlandez (sash), 2018 King Clyde Ballesteros (scepter), Mr. & Mrs. Allan Santos (lei), Dennis Villa (band), Clemencia Baltazar Cariaga (trophy) and Brgy. 11 Punong Barangay Dominic Dela Cruz (certificate and resolution of congratulations).
Queen Diovel Zameiah, on the other hand, is the daughter of Dennis and Clarice Ulep of Barangay 10, also of this municipality.
Her decorators were the crowning guest for her crown, Chester Kim Bonilla (sash), 2018 Queen Edeah Angel C. Domingo (bouquet), Derick Calauad (trophy), Floree Gayle Ulep (corsage) and Mr. Dela Cruz (certificate and resolution of congratulations).
American National Insurance Co., senior account executive based in Galveston, Texas, Phemy Rose Raquel-Javier in her speech thanked the DCC worker Miriam C. Currimao and the day care parents for choosing her as their crowning guest.
She also expressed her thanks for the warm welcome given by the Barangay officials headed by Mr. Dela Cruz.
In her speech, she saluted all the parents for “bringing up their children the best they could for their future success”.
Likewise, she also advised the children to “study hard and always become good boys and girls to their parents and be kind and respectful to their elders”.
Mr. Dela Cruz also expressed his gratitude to Ms. Javier that despite of her hectic schedule for her vacation in the country, she still managed to grace the occasion.
It was learned that Ms. Javier immediately flew back home to Hawaii a day right after the coronation night.
Mr. Dela Cruz, in his closing remarks, also thanked the parents and guardians of King Mark Jacob Gonzales and Queen Diovel Zameiah for letting their children to be this year’s King and Queen respectively.
He also thanked all the parents, the royal courts, masters and muses especially to the DCW Miss Currimao for always bringing Barangay 11 DCC the bacon in all competitions of the DCC Federation.
San Nicolas Sangguniang Bayan Member Atty. Luciano Caraang, as the district councilor of Brgy. 11, also attended and witnessed the coronation rites.
The Royal Courts 2019 also include: 1st Prince Nikolo Rancess Rivera & 1st Princess Kristen Erich Angel B. Bonador; 2nd Prince Skylar Hailey T. Gonzales & 2nd Princes Kharen A. Gilhang; 3rd Prince Shann Bernard R. Lagundi & 3rd Princess Kiana Reez T. Ligsay; 4th Prince Lawrence A. Dela Cruz; 5th Prince Houwer Kylie Manera; 6th Prince Hindelle Grey D. Guerrero and 7th Prince James Zandrei B. Gacusan.
Masters were Eithan Jahizen Tonog, Kyle Xander Dela Cruz, Samuel Pamitan Jr, Lucky Lourence C. Carlos Jr., Jhon Jacob Tungpalan, Christian Jacob Dela Cruz, Mason Lhuke Resurreccion, Khen Alex Dela Cruz, Ryan Jeremy Acosta, Zhian Tyron Lazaro, Karl Renz Pambid, Cyros John V. Lazaro, Kyle Gabriel S. Lazaro, Asher D. Dela Cruz and Ashlee D. Dela Cruz.
Muses were Daphne A. Salibio, Jewel Mitch O. Ventura, Kaeya Yumi Alexsia R. Tolentino, Karyle Jaimee Bernabe, Andrea O. Barruga, Marry Grace T. Esguerra, Janine P. Dela Cruz, Janella P. Dela Cruz, Sophia A. Dela Cruz, Anna Louise Valdez, Shilantine Resurreccion and Ariana Joyce Sanchez.
On November 28, 2019, the Federated Day Care Centers joined and participated in the grand parade with their respective floats.
The Float of Barangay 11 DCC, represented by King Mark Jacob and Queen Diovel Zameiah, won the Best in Float Competition choreographed and arranged by Steward Valdez.
