DepEd reshuffles Ilocos Norte education heads

Laoag City—TheDept. of Education, as per Order No. 16 S. of 2019, reassigned schools division superintendents in the province on Sept. 18, 2019

The said order implemented a nationwide policy on reassignments and also included regional and assistant regional directors and assistant division superintendents.

With this order, Ilocos Norte schools division superintendent Vilma Eda was transferred to Laoag City vice Dr. Joel B. Lopez, who was reassigned to Batac City. Erstwhile Batac schools division superintendent Dr. Joann Corpuz, meanwhile, moved to the Ilocos Norte division post.

The reassignment came from a DepEd Regional Memorandum No. 259 issued on Sept. 2, 2019.

Ilocos Norte division turnover
MS. Eda and Dr. Corpuz conducted a simple turnover ceremony at the Ilocos Norte division witnessed by the office’s staff.

Later on, the duo was presented to the local tri-media in the monthly “Tungtongan”, a mass media program for education stakeholders.

Ms. Eda formally welcomed Dr. Corpuz in the Ilocos Norte division saying that “Ms. Corpuz served as public schools district supervisor here for quite sometimes already”.

“We did our best, the best that we can do for the children of Ilocos Norte ket no ana didiay nagpatinggaan diay nanumo a naaramidan min ket ammuk met nga ituloy to niDr. Joann,” Ms. Eda said.

Ms. Eda expressed her gratitude and wish everyone well in working with the new superintendent.

“May I express gratitude to all the learners, teachers, school heads, non-teaching staff and all the educational stakeholders or the opportunity to have served the DepEd Division of Ilocos Norte, Ms. Eda said in a Facebook post.

She likewise thanked the full support given by the then Ilocos Norte Governor and now Senator Ma. Imelda Josefa “Imee” R. Marcos and the present administration headed by Governor Matthew Joseph M. Manotoc.

Curriculum and Instruction Division chief Arnel Bandiola also expressed his thanks to Ms. Eda’s leadership in the SDOIN highlighting the impacts of her successful programs and services in the division.

“Ma’am Eda trudged the path less travelled yet you emerged triumphant in spite of the stirs, unpopularity or disappointments that your non-sense governance [has] caused. The results are undeniable. You have made Ilocos Norte, a cut above the rest and one of the [elites] performing divisions in the entire country,” Mr.  Bandiola said.

Ms. Eda served in the Ilocos Norte division for more than two years as superintendent.

Dr. Corpuz, for her part, likewise thanked everybody for the warm welcome the Ilocos Norte division has given to her.

Dr. Corpuz vowed to sustain all the programs of Ms. Eda and at the same time to add some innovations as there are also some lined-up plans for the division.
