Dingras, Ilocos Norte—In celebration of the National Electrification Administration’s (NEA) 50th anniversary and the 2019 NEA-EC-MCO Convention on Rural Electrification held August 6-8 at PICC in Pasay City, the Ilocos Norte Electric Cooperative (INEC) received numerous major and minor awards from NEA and the Philippine Rural Electric Cooperatives Association, Inc. (PHILRECA) during the awarding ceremony.
INEC general manager Engr. Felino Herbert P. Agdigos announced that the awards are results of the cooperative’s continuing service to its member-consumer-owners.
INEC was recognized with two Golden Dagitab (Spark) Award—the highest distinction/award given to electric cooperatives (ECs) for its invaluable contribution in the successful implementation of the Rural Electrification Program and its exemplary performance in all the aspects of the ECs operations in the 2018 EC Overall Assessment with a AAA Category.
In recognition of INEC’s exemplary performance as Triple A Category, the cooperative was also awarded a Paramount Achievement Award in the pursuit of total electrification and sustainable development and for being a committed partner of NEA, PHILRECA and One EC-MC Movement.
INEC also received the Stellar Success Award for maintaining its high collection performance and for ensuring the attainment of goals of NEA, PHILRECA and One EC-MCO Movement.
Recognizing its consistency in exhibiting and exemplary performance in the Triple A Category in the last five years, INEC was honored with the 5 Years of Powerhouse Excellence Award for being a formidable partner of NEA, PHILRECA and One EC-MCO.
INEC also received minor awards: Certificate of Recognition to Enrico Pacifico B. Ruiz for his exemplary leadership shown as INEC board president; Certificate of Recognition to Engr. Felino Herbert P. Agdigos for his exemplary leadership shown as INEC general manager of INEC;
Certificate of Recognition to INEC for ensuring a systematic approach in liquidating subsidy funds and for being an active in attaining the goals of NEA, PHILRECA and One EC-MCO Movement; Golden Digitab award to Most Improved Region (Region I) for the unprecedented improvements in the overall operational efficiency of their member ECs through a collective leadership and teamwork INEC; Golden Dagitab Award to INEC as EC member of the Best Region (Region I) for its exemplary performance in the overall performance assessment of which all the member ECs are evaluated with Category AAA though their collective leadership teamwork; Certificate of participation to RECA1 for its official entry “The Saga of Rural Electrification” Kwentong Dagitab, and EC Video documentary;
Aside from the major and minor awards given by NEA to INEC, PHILRECA also recognized INEC for 2019 PHILRECA Awards from wires: Model EC Award for being an outstanding member-EC of PHILRECA in realizing the goals of rural electrification and sustainable rural development; ACE of ECs Award for implementing the member -Consumer Empowerment Program aims to uplift the lives of the MCOs and to carry out the goals of NEA, PHILRECA and One EC-MCO Movement;
Circle of Excellence Award for realizing the goals of NEA, PHILRECA and One EC-MCO Movement and ensuring that all its member-ECs are provided with support and guidance for the delivery of efficient services to the MCOs; Making a Difference Award for establishing Renewable Energy Project and for attaining the goals of NEA, PHILRECA and One EC-MCO Movement;
Extra Miles Award for implementing a model CSR Projects geared towards environment protection and for being active delivering the goals of NEA, PHILRECA and One EC-MCO Movement; and Advocacy Excellence Award for being a strong instrument in carrying out the goals of NEA, PHILRECA and One EC-MCO Movement.

The convention and awarding ceremony were attended by INEC managers headed by Mr. Agdigos, the board of directors headed by Mr. Ruiz and MSEAC representative Jean Galat.
This year’s celebration’s theme is “Sustaining the Strategic Partnership of the NEA-ECs-MCOs Towards Rural Development and Nation Building”.
