An agrarian reform beneficiaries’ organization (ARBO) and an agrarian reform beneficiary (ARB) under the Department of Agrarian Reform-Ilocos Norte bagged national awards during the Gawad Parangal held at the DAR Central Office on June 28, 2018.
The Gawad Parangal is the culminating activity of the 30th anniversary celebration of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) implementation in the country.

Awarded as the most outstanding ARBO is the Bagnos Multipurpose Cooperative of Banna, Ilocos Norte, while Jose I. Lopez of Damilian Agrarian Reform Community of San Nicolas, Ilocos Norte landed as first runner up in the Best ARB division.

Said ARBO and ARB received citations and cash awards for their exceptional achievements that produced inspiration and contributed positive impact in the community.
Agrarian Reform Secretary John Castriciones said these awards are in recognition of their efforts and exemplary performance in uplifting their economic lives and contributing in the development of the community.
“We hope that these awards would inspire others to give their best for the family, the community and for the country,” Mr. Castriciones said.
DAR-Ilocos Norte also placed fourth best provincial office nationwide in the implementation of the Agrarian Reform Beneficiaries Development and Sustainability Program.
On July 2, 2018, regional director Judita Montemayor Tungol led DAR Regional Office 1 in giving recognition to Bagnos MPC and Mr. Lopez in a simple program.
Aside from the said awardees, DAR also cited provincial agrarian reform officer II Vic M. Ines, chief agrarian reform program officer Teresita T. Acang, senior agrarian reform program officer Remely Julian and agrarian reform program officer 1 Victoria S. Correa for their remarkable performance in the implementation of DAR programs.
